Bennington was initially known as Bunz Town and was founded under the latter name when the Fremont, Elkhorn, and Missouri Valley Railroad was extended to that point. It was founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1892. To date, Bennington maintains its small-town atmosphere with the conveniences of the Omaha metropolitan area just a few miles away.
Bennington's real estate market has something for everyone. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for an empty lot, single-family home, farm, or multi-million-dollar estate. Many of the houses are new constructions, but you can find a few 19th- to mid-20th-century properties.
